Background, objectives, methodology and outputs
MIICT has three main outputs.
A set of ICT enabled services that will improve refugee and migrant populations' access to key public services, including healthcare, welfare and employment.
An integration framework facilitating the seamless integration of heterogeneous services within existing public service infrastructures, with APIs for plug-in ICT modules.
A bi-lingual platform with a database and intelligent analytics system capturing the socio-cultural, economic and legal contexts of migrants, shared with public authorities.
Previous research has established that issues of integration, discrimination, employment, incapacity support and education rank highly among migrants of varying demographics.
Using a co-design approach, MIICT designs, develops and deploys bespoke solutions addressing the management of migrant integration, customisation of services and sustained inclusion of migrants.
MIICT was conceived with the goal of designing, developing and deploying tools that address the challenge of migrant integration, co-creating services with migrants, refugees, public sector services and NGOs.
Eliciting understanding of community needs using questionnaires, focus groups and interviews.
Co-design and co-creation sessions in Cyprus, Italy and Spain using cognitive mapping, storyboarding and paper-based prototypes.
Paper-based prototypes realised into fully functional live prototypes ready for testing and sustained pilot.
